Where are the bootcamps held?Group bootcamp sessions are run in a private gym behind, and separate from, the main house.
-
How much do the bootcamps cost?Bootcamp prices are listing on the Plans & Pricing page. There is one price for pay-as-you-go sessions, or alternatively, packages of 10, 25, 50 sessions may be purchased at increasingly discounted rates off the base bootcamp price. These packages reward the purchaser with free sessions, e.g. the 10x Bootcamp package gives one free bootcamp, while the 25x Bootcamp package gives 3.
-
I've never been to a gym, do I need to know how to use the equipment? No. KBSC will coach you in proper form and technique using a variety of cues and other methods to ensure safe movement and learning.
-
I have a medical/health/injury issue, can I train? We ask all potential clients complete the PARQ form before attending a session, noting any medical issue(s) or injuries in particular. As long as your GP or physio has given clearance to participate in strength training, then you can train. However, if there are particular movements or loads you have been advised to refrain from, then we need to know what those are before you can attend. In all cases to date, KBSC clients with health conditions or injuries have been accommodated. Regardless, we'll always have a conversation first just to satisfy both sides.
-
When do the bootcamp sessions run?Group bootcamps are run every weekday … Morning Sessions: 05:45 & 06:30 Afternoon Sessions: 12:45 & 13:30 Evening Sessions (except Fridays): 19:45 & 20:30 These Sessions are 45 minutes long. One additional bootcamp runs on Saturdays at 07:30. This session is 60 minutes long.
-
How much does the first session cost?First sessions, or trial sessions, are always free!
-
What age-groups do you cater to?We have experience working with minors** all the way up to seniors, with the majority falling in the middle. **Note: Staff maintain current garda vetting and safeguarding certificates with multiple sports NGOs as well as Scouting Ireland and Tusla. All are up-to-date within the current guidance on interacting with minors.
-
Do you have beginner classes? All bootcamp sessions are designed with regressions and progressions for each movement (exercise) so that every person, no matter what their skill level, training history, or even injury (current or past), can participate. No exercise is a "must-do" or set in stone. Adjustments are made according to the individual bootcamper. KBSC understands that we all have different training histories, as well as past, or current, injuries which affect our skill-level and ability to move well. Some bootcampers are brand new to strength training. Others are semi-professional athletes. Some people are healthy but just need to lose weight. Others have injuries stemming all the way back to child-hood. All can be accommodated within the bootcamp structure, and every exercise can be adjusted, on the fly, to be safe yet effective in achieving your fitness goals.

Do you offer a membership plan? No. Gym membership plans, while subscribed to with good intentions, have a tendency to be forgotten by members as they drift away from their fitness goals ("life" happens), or fall off the "Fitness Cliff" (everyone needs a plan!). Industry statistics show 67% of members never use their membership**¹. While there is a New Year's surge of 12%, typically about 80% quit their New Year's Resolutions by February, and only 8% KEEP their resolutions for the entire year. In fact, most fitness gyms rely on people actually NOT attending to stay in business! KBSC is determined to avoid this paradigm. We believe that consistency is the key to living a healthy and fit life, and rather than make people feel guilty about paying for memberships they aren't using, we offer up incentives in the form of free sessions**². They more a person attends a KBSC bootcamp, the cheaper it gets in the long run and, of course, the closer they are to achieving their fitness goals. There is no contract and no fee to join the KBSC incentive programme (referred to as: The Enchanted Ninja Clubhouse of Glory & Dreams, because, why not!) **¹Source: https://www.exercise.com/grow/gym-membership-statistics/#top-gym-membership-statistics **²Note: KBSC is looking to add additional incentives in the form of merchandise, gift cards, donations to charities (of a person's choice), and more. We want to encourage people to look at fitness differently, with maybe some excitement and perhaps purpose as not only do they move closer to achieving their fitness dreams but also helping the others, the community, or the planet.
-
What do you do in the bootcamps?Bootcamps change every session. There will always be a warmup and cooldown, varied based on the sessions goals and activities, but in between, the exercises and equipment change based on the theme of the month and the theme of the week. Incorporated into all the sessions are elements of the latest exercise science to make what limited time there is effective. Equipment used varies from bodyweight to kettlebells, dumbbells, barbells, sandbags, and more. No experience is needed.
-
What age range do you train? We have experience working with minors** all the way up to seniors, with the majority falling in the middle. **Note: Staff maintain current garda vetting and safeguarding certificates with multiple sports NGOs as well as Scouting Ireland and Tusla. All are up-to-date within the current guidance on interacting with minors.

I just need a plan, can you provide one that fits my goals?Yes. KBSC has vast experience training everyone from sports (camogie, soccer, rugby, fencing, athletics, and more!) to civilian athletes to (US) military special forces. If there's an activity we have never trained, then KBSC will do the research to ensure you get the very best programme catered to your training history, injuries (past and present), mobility, fitness-level, skill-level, and ultimately, your goals. All programmes provided are an ongoing discussion between you and KBSC with the endpoint always in mind. These programmes can be one-offs, or periodised to align with the sport's fixture schedule.
-
Are personal training sessions available in the evenings?Personal training daytimes or evening-times are negotiable to what fits your needs and work-life schedule and KBSC availability. KBSC is able to accommodate most reasonable requests.
